Book Review Schedule – Sign Up Now Available

I know I haven’t, in the past, been very clear about how my book review schedule is set up or whether I take review requests. So, let’s change that! I do take review requests, and I do so for both the blog and other platforms. I’m not a very picky reader when it comes to genre. I’ll read almost anything. Yes, I know. I only review fantasy on the blog. But if you check out my Goodreads page, you’ll find more than a few romance books in addition to fantasy, thrillers, mysteries, and lots more. I read less than I used to due to time constraints with other responsibilities, but I hope that in having made changes to the blog schedule, I’ll have more time.

That said, I do like getting review requests! I enjoy reading, and I like helping out fellow authors. We all understand how hard it can be to get reviews, and it’s frustrating as an indie author when you can’t get the reviews you need. So, if you want to have a spot on this schedule, please sign up with this form.

As of now, here are my two schedules (one for the blog, one for general stuff I’m reading).

Personal Book Review List

This one is a list because most of them don’t have specific deadlines. If it doesn’t say “to read” or “to review” after the title, then I’ve already reviewed them this year, and you can find the links to the reviews by clicking on the title. Please note that while some of the books may be fine for younger audiences, not all are! Use discretion.

Word to the Wise on Romances

I’ll make a particular note about the romances on the book review list here. Many of the romances I read tend to be of the darker variety or thriller/suspense romances. The dark romances aren’t meant for kids. If you’re under eighteen, please look at any romance book, whether on this list or elsewhere, very carefully. You know what you are and are not supposed to be reading. If you don’t, well… You should probably be asking about it. Better safe than sorry, right? If I’ve noted on the review that it’s got content not meant for younger audiences, I highly advise against >18 audiences reading it. Older teens may be able to handle filtering and skipping things that they shouldn’t be reading, but not all of them will. Please just use common sense and be cautious.

I obviously don’t have the ability to tell anyone what they should or should not be reading, and I wouldn’t try. But I do feel that it’s my responsibility as an author and a reviewer to be up front about content that some might find objectionable. No one should be exposed to something they didn’t want to read or see by accident. If a novel has content I know wouldn’t be good for younger readers or might be objectionable to some parents, I will say so. Read at your own risk.
